Veterinarian
Dr Ken Schmidt graduated high school, in 1983, from Antelope Valley High School, in Lancaster CA. Shortly after graduating, he entered military service, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps where he saw service in both Somalia and the 1st Gulf War. He served in the USMC for a little over 10 years. After becoming honorably discharged in 1994 as a Sergeant, he was a Deputy Sherrif; Electronics Test Technician for Honeywell; Warehouse Manager, Planner, Buyer, In-side Sales for EFTC; Planner, Buyer, Master Scheduler and Project Manager for BE Aerospace; Field Engineer, and Field Engineering Manager for Flanders. While at Flanders he joined the United States Navy Reserve where he was deployed to Iraq during Iraqi Freedom twice. He retired from the military in 2012 as a Chief Electronics Technician.
In 2017, Dr Schmidt started college at Eastern Arizona Community College and earned an Associate of Science degree in Pre-Med. Him and his wife Marla, moved from Safford Arizona to Fort Collins Colorado where he attended Colorado State University. During his time at CSU, Dr Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (2019), and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2023).
Since graduating, Dr Schmidt has worked as a small animal veterinarian in Woodland Park Colorado, and a mixed animal veterinarian in Calhan Colorado. He is a father to five children and grandfather to 3 grandchildren.
