Kaley Tucker
Veterinarian
Bio
Dr. Kaley Tucker is a Colorado native, raised in Roxborough just south of Denver. She has loved animals for as long as she can remember—especially horses—and hopes to one day have her own farm complete with horses and an assortment of other animals.
Before pursuing veterinary medicine, Dr. Tucker played competitive Division I soccer for five years at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, graduating in 2021. It was during her time in Greensboro that she realized her true calling, knowing she couldn’t see a future without working with animals. She was accepted into Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and graduated in 2026.
Dr. Tucker is excited to begin her career at Calhan Veterinary Clinic, care for local animals, and build lasting relationships with our clients and community. Outside the clinic, she spends her time with her two dogs, Rizzo (a German Shepherd) and Charlie (a Golden Retriever), and her cat, Poe.

Leah
Veterinary Assistant
Bio
Leah is a military transplant born in Washington state and has lived in Colorado since 2006. She has always dreamed of owning her own horses, farm critters, and living in the country. Since owning her own farm animals she realize she wanted to go into animal care and is currently in Vet Tech school and working as a Vet assistant and loving every minute of it.
Emily
Pre-Veterinary Student
Bio
Emily is Dr. D and Carrie’s daughter. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Animal Science (Pre-Veterinary track) at South Dakota State University. With a busy class load, she still manages to contribute several hours per week towards beef nutrition research projects under the guidance of one of her professors, and be an active participant of clubs, including the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club. Although she is undecided in what she would like to practice in the future, she has her eyes set on either Mixed Animal Medicine, or being a board-certified Equine Surgeon. When at the clinic, you can find Emily keeping Dr. D and Dr. Schmidt in-line! She enjoys just about every aspect veterinary medicine has to offer, but the opportunity of working with her biggest mentors (her parents!) is truly priceless.
